Sideletter on Articles 6 and 30
UC/UC-AFT Negotiations

The parties agree that the change in Article 6 (from "Nine-Month
Appointment" to "Appointment") represents a non-substantive change. The parties
further agree that this change shall in no way be construed to alter any obligations
the University may have to meet and confer on changes to summer session.
The parties agree that nothing in Article 30 shall be construed to alter any
obligations the University may have to meet and confer about changing summer
session to a regular academic term prior to implementation.
This side letter shall be attached to, and become part of, any new Unit 18
Memorandum of Understanding.
