The University and the UC-AFT agree that the following provisions shall govern the salary
increases for the SEED Elementary School Teachers at the UCLA campus.
This side letter shall apply only to SEEDS Elementary School Teachers at the UCLA
Campus in Demonstration Teacher (2210) and Demonstration Teacher 3-year contract
(2211) classifications (hereinafter the "SEEDS Teachers").
The attached salary scales shall replace the existing salary scales effective September
1, 2002. The increases that result from the new salary scales shall go into effect on the
first regular pay date following September 1, 2002.
The salary increases that result from the implementation of the new salary scales shall
be the only increases provided to the SEEDS Teachers for 2000-01 and 2001-02
outside of their regular merit increases.
The parties agree that the market comparisons referred to during the course of
negotiations shall not be precedential with respect to the utilization of comparison salary
data for future negotiations.
The agreed upon salary schedule and the increases for SEEDS teachers reflect the
uniqueness of SEEDS teachers within the bargaining unit and shall not be determinative
with respect to salary negotiations for other unit 18 members. pertain only to
the SEED teachers.
