Addendum to the SEEDS Sideletter dated June 28, 2002
The University and the AFT hereby agree to amend the sideletter agreement
they entered into on June 28, 2002 covering the SEEDS Elementary School
teachers at UCLA (the "Sideletter). The Sideletter provides for certain
changes to the Salary Scales pertaining to the SEEDS teachers and salary
increases for individual SEEDS teachers resulting from such salary scale
changes. The Sideletter states that the revised scales shall go into effect on
September 1, 2002 (the Effective Date) and that any increases resulting from
the scale changes shall go into effect the first regular pay date following the
Effective Date.
The University and the AFT hereby agree to amend that section of the
Sideletter pertaining to the Effective Date so that the salary scale changes
shall be effective July 1, 2002. The parties further agree that any merit
increases provided to SEEDS Elementary School teachers for 2002-03 shall
be based on the new salary scales attached to the original sideletter and that
such increases shall be reflected in paychecks issued to SEEDS teachers the
first regular pay date following September 1, 2002. Merit increases that
were not paid prior to the signing of this addendum will be paid retroactively
in the first paycheck issued after September 1, 2002. The retroactive
payments shall only cover the period between July 1, 2002 and the next
regular pay date following the date of this addendum.
The parties agree that all other aspects of the
sideletter shall remain in full force and effect.
